Gustavo Monteiro Araujo: Head Instructor

Gustavo received his black belt in 2012 from G13 BJJ Headquarters in São Paulo, Brazil, under Professors Roberto Godoi and Roberto Tozi. (Black Belt Certified under IBJJF). Born in São Paulo, Brazil, he earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Guarulhos in São Paulo.
Gustavo began his martial arts journey at the age of 12 under Professor Marcelo Giudici, training in Chinese Boxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Over the years, he achieved several medals in combat sports. In 2001, he had his first MMA fight in Oahu, Hawaii, which led him to realize that BJJ was the most essential tool for his martial arts career.
In 2016, Gustavo moved to the United States with a dream of sharing his knowledge and changing lives through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Since 2019, he has owned and operated G13 BJJ New Mexico. Additionally, Gustavo serves as a law enforcement officer in Albuquerque, NM, and lives in the East Mountains, where he is passionate about serving his community. He holds multiple certifications in self-defense and defensive tactics, including from EFC (Effective Fitness Combatives).

Miles Bodmer

Miles received his black belt in 2023 from G13 New Mexico and has been practicing Jiu Jitsu since 2013. Born in Albuquerque, he received a Bachelors Degree in Physics and Mathematics from the University of New Mexico. He then moved to Eugene, Oregon, for graduate school, where he trained primarily at Northwest Martial Arts, advancing to purple belt.

He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Oregon and has since returned to New Mexico to work as a Research Geophysicist at Sandia Labs. He joined G13 New Mexico in late 2021 and currently resides in Tijeras with his wife and numerous animals. When not on the mats, Miles occasionally ventures into the city to perform gigs with his metalcore band.

Juan Gonzalez

Juan received his black belt in 2023 from G13 New Mexico and has always been invested in sports from a young age.With several amateur and professional MMA fights under his belt, he brings a wealth of experience to his teaching. Originally from Texas, Juan now resides in the East Mountains with his wife and two children. His aggressive background in MMA and wrestling shapes his dynamic teaching style. Juan is deeply committed to his students, ensuring each class is both educational and enjoyable, with every student leaving having learned something new.

Andria Sennet

Andria is a brown belt who has been training under Professor Jose Barraza and Gustavo since 2016. She began coaching in 2017 and has experience working with athletes as young as three years old, using motivation, inspiration, and goal-setting to guide their progress. Additionally, Andria enjoys introducing new girls and women to Jiu-Jitsu to increase their confidence and knowledge of self-defense.
